Partner of the Year 2017 of Meyer Turku Shipyard
Meyer Shipyards have once again awarded their suppliers in an annual gala. The Partner of the Year 2017 of Meyer Turku is Helkama Bica Oy.
"Helkama has proved to Meyer Turku that they are an adaptable and cost-conscious partner offering high-quality products and can-do attitude. In addition they offer excellent personal service. All of these qualities will be respected especially in the coming years when our order book will keep us and our suppliers busy", tells a representative of Meyer Turku about the backgrounds of the selection.
The selection of the supplier of the year is a Meyer family's tradition at the shipyard of Papenburg, in which the shipyard of Turku has participated twice now. This time the gala was organised in Warnemünde in Germany where a broad crowd of experts in the maritime industry from Finland and Germany was gathered.
Area Sales Manager of Helkama Bica, Mr. Sami-Pekka Arlin, who is in charge of the customer relationship to Meyer, is very flattered of the distinction which their company has gained.
"This is a great recognition of a long-term cooperation with the shipyard of Turku. Helkama is a rich in tradition family company as Meyer, so this recognition is highly appreciated by the owners", says Arlin.
The network around the shipyard is essential for Meyer Turku shipyard. The companies in the network are not only supplying needed components to the cruise ships, but are also building ships at the Meyer Turku shipyard together with the workers of the shipyard. Meyer Turku has altogether almost 2000 active network partners. In the construction of one ship, there are always about 800 workers from different companies at the shipyard area.
